Hey all,

(hopefully this link works)

This is my first attempt to make a museum-friendly mannequin for the Newcastle Gaol Museum in Toodyay. CF and Jo sent me some instructions, which I modified slightly. Instead of two plates and chickenwire, I went with a shoulder and waist block, then pulled the wadding in with a cotton strip to make a waistline. The cutting out was fun, but as a first attempt is a tad blocky. However I still have the materials for at least five more, assuming I can order more stands.

Anyway, considering some of the quotes I've received for mannequins ranged from $500-$800, an alternative that only used roughly $180 worth of material is a bargain.

hope this helps!
