Debt of Honour

If you only ever attend one exhibition each year, make sure that the choice for 2012 is the WA Museum's Debt of Honour Exhibition currently showing at the WA Museum until early June.

The story told in this exhibition is fascinating and resonates on so many levels that just one visit probably is not enough.

Immigration Museum

Spent the afternoon at the Immigration Museum today and didn't have enough time to see and do everything.

Very powerful exhibitions right throughout and some that were so simple yet really hit the spot.

Interesting that nearly all exhibitions provided paper and pens for people to add their comments or personal viewpoints to the subject on display.  In some cases these comments provided the most evocative thoughts.

This great new idea was launched at the opening on=f the MA VIC state conference yesterday (Thursday 29 March)

http://victoriancollections.net.au/

This allows all museums in Victoria to catalogue their collections online, and has the added advantage of promoting your museum and knowing where objects are if you are looking to borrow objects for an exhibition.

What do you think,…

Is the "Digital Stories" exhibition available online so those interested in the regions or remote communities can enjoy? If so what is the link?   Can't wait to see it.

ATF2011 Digital Stories

The “digital frontier” is an important theme of At The Frontier 2011 conference and whilst the conference itself will focus on the why’s and where fore’s of the production of such material, it is important to showcase the end product, which is designed for the audience to see. Anna Crane from Jäger Studio has curated a program of the vast range of digital material produced and presented by museums, galleries,…
