Notes from the FACET Regional Tourism Conference Mt Magnet

I have spent the last two days at the FACET conference talking about regional tourism opportunities, partnerships, value adding, sharing stories, interpretation & significance.



Have been motivated and encouraged by lots of stories and speakers. In particular I was impressed by Patrick Maher, the Irish Geologist/geotourism advocate and his examples of the ways that Ireland has embraced this sub-set of the tourism market and integrated this with their mining industry to leverage… Continue

How to keep inspired after the conference is over

Drowning in the post-conference miasma of un-packing, filing, paying bills and other such necessities, into my in-box pops an article entitled "Don't let conference inspiration vanish when you return to work."

Museums Australia WA is enjoying reading the feedback on the State Conference

We are back in the office having unpacked cars and sorted out our backlog of emails, and are now happily viewing the images posted by members and reading the confernce feedback.

Feel free to add to the discussion thread started on this.

Would love to hear ideas for next year!! as well of course of suggestion for the National Conference in 2011.

Conference Registrations have now closed - but there are still some workshop vacancies

Well we have been overwhelmed with our conference registrations this year! So we have had to close of the registrations, so sorry if you have missed out.

There are still a few spaces left for some of the workshops, so check with the office if you would like to attend.
