DESCRIPTION:The Mundaring District Museum has exhibits that show how t
 he Mundaring Shire became the unique place that it is today. From the 
 early presence of indigenous people, their successful methods of farmi
 ng with the use of fire, to the European occupation. When the European
 s settled they began industry, farming, orcharding, quarrying and timb
 er milling. These industries created the need for new methods of trans
 port, so the eastern railway was built. Mundaring Weir an engineering 
 marvel, was constructed in the early 1900’s, to supply water to the
