Celebrate one of Perth’s most significant heritage places. Since it was erected in 1862, the building that now houses Claremont Museum has been a school for the district’s first British settlers, a place of worship, boarding house, and police station and residence. Near the river was a camp site for Aboriginal people until the 1940s.
Activities include olden day games, a treasure hunt, Meccano, craft stalls, an 1862 school lesson, old fashioned washing, stories, caring for old books and papers, police history display, old fashioned races, boatbuilding history, along with music and refreshments, children’s playground and grassy areas.
